Sometimes the first editorial in the mag is written last–acutally it is the last edit piece written in the mag. It reminds me of when my reports were due in school–always procastinated until the last minute. Why? You have all this time to finish a task and yet I found everything but doing my homework more interesting. I’d find myself using my fingers, jumping on the edge of my binder pretending to do 50-50s or Smith grinds. That would lead to placing a mag on the binder making a kicker or a halfpipe, finger skating this obstacle made from my school supplies. Next thing I know I’m browsing through the latest issue of TransWorld SKATEboarding. "I’ll only look at it for a little while and then I’ll be able to concentrate and finish the report about the Romans trying to conquer the Highlanders of Scotland," I’d say to myself. "I’ve got plenty of time. School doesn’t start for at least fifteen hours." I always liked looking at the Sightings. The photo issues were even better–so many photos to look at. I’d examine the photos as if my life depended on it–how the guy’s feet were barely touching the board, how he held his arms in the air, the texture of the ground, every minute detail. I was a daydreamer and probably would’ve been diagnosed with A.D.D.
In celebration of all the daydreamers out there we’d like to start off the year with a Photo Issue. Inside you’ll also find the long overdue Jason "The Kid" Adams Pro Spotlight. Enjoy the issue, I’m going to have this A.D.D thing checked out.–Eric Sentianin
