Lady Meek is in the hot seat in the latest installment of Bronson Bearings’ Dealer’s Choice video series as she answers a few questions before getting to what she does best—ripping! Take a look:
If anything, clips like this do a great job providing fans of Meek with closer look at her personality and perspective...all while watching her rip around San Diego's City Heights skatepark nonetheless. And I'll tell you what—I've been a fan of Lady's skating for a while now, but learning more about her interests and world outside of skateboarding was pretty cool to see. On and off the board, Lady rips!
The concept here is nothing new, but at the same, it's timeless. It's fun seeing our favorite skaters in the hot seat answering questions they might not always get asked. And honestly, even the obvious questions can provide some fun responses. We know Meek can toss out inverts and smith grinds in the deep end, but did you know she's into embroidering and meditating? Exactly!
Personally, I'll never get tired of hearing about skater's setups either. Every board is different, preferences are all over the place, but at the end of the day, it's just one of the many things that makes skateboarding so unique and interesting. The stoke is universal...the boards, wheels, trucks, etc.—not so much. And that's rad.
I've been talking about shield-popping a lot lately, too, so hearing her talk about that was pretty much perfect timing as far as I'm concerned. I couldn't have said it any better!
"I pop my shields because it gets the dirt in and out easier—it doesn't get stuck," she tells the camera. "Sometimes the noise sounds waterlogged, so I pop the shields so it sounds like a skateboard." Anyone else out there agree? Welp, doesn't matter either way—I ain't here to argue!
