Nothing worth having ever comes easy, and that can be said for almost every trick a skateboarder tries throughout their life. While some will always come easier than others, battling tricks is simply part of the game.
Clipped from his rough cut edit from a recent Southwest Sizzle trip with the Bronson team, Cookie and the crew stumbled upon this familiar Colorado spot and decided to test the waters. Tough trick, tough spot...what could go wrong?

Kickflip front grinds are a super difficult trick to begin with, especially on a hairy spot like this. Wiggly flatbar, undesirable run up, a crusty ditch to plunge into on the rollaway. The rail itself literally has black duct tape (maybe electrical tape? Either way...tape!) holding it together in parts. Nothing about this is mellow, making it all the more rewarding to land.
I can really admire how he rolls up to the thing with no hesitation every try. Cookie is an interesting skater, always dishing out something cool and unique. He's highly technical but has a thirst for sketchy spots all the same. So whether it's a six-inch manny pad or a spot like this, Cookie always has something in his bag of tricks ready to deliver.
Safe to say Cookie won the battle here, and by the looks of the full edit, I'd say he won the war as well. That look of relief on his face speaks volumes either way; an exhausted smile we can all relate to. Nice one, Cookie!
