Fresh off parting ways with Creature after years of waving the Fiend flag high, The Muscle has officially found a new home alongside Sky Brown and the rest of the Tanabata Skateboards crew—and he's wasting no time making his presence felt.

Rather than dropping a full video part, Tanabata kept things raw and straight to the point here. The clip cuts between Russell charging some crusty concrete walls while talking about why joining the brand simply felt right.
No overthinking, no nonsense—just some honest words and ripping from one of the heaviest dudes in the game. There’s something refreshing about the simplicity of it all. And hey, we're all for it.
It's clear that Chris is in a good place right now and sounds like this switch was a pretty natural transition, all things considered. He certainly fits the squad, that's for sure. And it's exciting to see the team really starting to evolve. Sky Brown!? Pedro Barros!? Chris Russell!? Say less.
If this edit tells us anything, it's that Russell’s chapter with Tanabata is already off to a heavy start. The future is bright and we can't wait to see what Chris and the rest of the squad bring to the table in 2026.
