What are these big red cartoon boots!? I'm sort of happy I don't understand fashion. I'm not angry at it, I'm not purposely ignorant... I just don't get it. And whether @george.esteve is being serious or ironic here, it's a perfect representation of our current times.
Anyone with an Instagram or TikTok following all those major accounts has seen these big red boots pop up recently—whether it was Lil Wayne or any other public-figure-influencer type who has daringly stepped out in them. But this dude slid his feet into a pair and took them to the streets, and I can't say I'm mad at it.
This video is basically TikTok gold. A trending fashion item—a very hard-to-ignore type of fashion item—that would probably be difficult to simply walk in, a skateboard, and someone bold enough to do a few tricks in them. The perfect formula. As mentioned, @George.Esteve actually does both tricks super proper, but it doesn't mean I'm not laughing as I watch them go down.
Of all the things I don't understand in the fashion world, I'll add these big red cartoon boots to the top of that list. With that said, who cares! This was pure entertainment; social media at its finest. And as many of the comments mentioned, I'm glad someone went out and skated in them. The blend of hype and hate in the comments also proves just how perfect a piece of content like this really is.
I think him and pro skater Lil Wayne should play S.K.A.T.E. in them. They both have a pair... That would be dope.
