adidas Skateboarding just rolled out something special—The Silent One—a short film featuring Mark Gonzales and Gustav Tønnesen celebrating Gustav's new signature Aloha Super colorway.
The Three Stripes crew officially dropped the Aloha Super x Gustav Tønnesen on August 23rd, and it’s been the talk of the town ever since. Put Gonz and Gustav together and you already know the outcome’s going to be something special—but this new edit takes that notion a step further.
They skate, they hang, they hit Mark’s studio to bring a creative project to life that blends Gustav’s photography with Gonz’s iconic artwork. The whole thing gives us a cool behind-the-scenes glimpse into the minds of these two creatives, both on and off the board. Take a look:
"If I could sum up Gustav in one sentence, it would be controlled grace," Gonz mentions. And I'd say he absolutely nailed it.
The edit really makes this whole thing more than just another shoe drop, you know? There's a story here; a story about collaboration, creativity, and respect between two generations of ripping, truly original skateboarders (and humans, just in general).
"It's something to appreciate—someone who lets their skating do the talking," Gonz concludes. Tacking on with a smile: "The Silent One."
