Grant Brittain’s Legendary Cover Shot Becomes a Mural in Encinitas

Grant Brittain PUSH Mural

There's so much SoCal juice in this incredible mural: Grant Brittain's iconic "Push" cover shot of Tod Swank for TransWorld in 1987 (shot in Del Mar, California), now being painted on the wall of North County San Diego's most famous indie record store! Back in the 90s, Lou's Records was the only place to get indie label stuff (Operation Ivy, NOFX, Olivelawn, etc.). @hannahsmurals did an incredible job. Check the IG posts.

"@hannasmurals painting my @tacupeto_valterra Push photo and designed by @scrojo at @lousrecords today! What an honor to have my skate photo of Tod Swank on the wall of an iconic landmark like Lou’s! ♥️"

So rad to add this iconic image to the already skate-history-heavy town of Encinitas. @thebandwashere even dedicated a post to Grant's shot:

The next time you're in North County, or even just driving by on the 5, pull off and visit Lou's Records and peep the mural. Support you local record shop! Support artists!
