If you happen to be in or around Orlando (I know plenty of you are) within the next few days, be sure to check out Grant Brittain’s “PUSH” photo exhibit at the Orlando Museum of Art. You have until January 5th! More details below:
Not only was Grant one of the founders of TransWorld SKATEboarding magazine in the 80s, but he’s still out there to this day getting down and dirty on the edges of pools, contests, the Combi and random sessions all the same.
Say what you want, but skateboarding wouldn’t be the same without humans like Grant who were there on the frontlines in the early days documenting all the wild progression that was going down. His photos are timeless—despite the era—and it’s always a treat seeing them neatly hung on gallery walls.
His Orlando exhibition has been up since September, and his long-awaited photo book, “PUSH” has been available for a while now as well. Have you seen it? If you’re a skateboarder and that book isn’t sitting on your coffee table, I don’t know what to tell ya!
The new year is here and just like most people who can’t stay stagnant, Grant will be out and about shooting photos and hopefully hosting more photo shows in 2025. Fingers crossed.
Regardless, if you’re near the Orlando Museum of Art, peep the exhibit. Grant rules. Simple as that. Who doesn't want to see some classic Tony Hawk photos from his childhood?! Exactly. Get there!
