Hugo Boserup Talks Mental Health With Ben Raemers Foundation (Video)

Hugo Boserup Ben Raemers Foundation

The Ben Raemers Foundation recently checked in with Hugo Boserup for a day of ripping and talking mental health. He digs into his daily routine and talks us through the routine he implements to his days, as well as the Suicide First Aid Lite training he undertook with the Foundation.

Having a solid routine (and support system) is so important for mental health, and Hugo certainly knows this. His wife is a pro surfer. He's a pro skater. They recently had a kid. Structure is key for this unique lifestyle, but they're clearly making it work and it's actually pretty inspiring to hear about.

I don't want to spoil too much, though. It's a super insightful conversation and watching Boserup rip around that crusty DIY spot and skatepark is just the icing on the cake.

What the Ben Raemers Foundation has built over the past six years is really something special. It genuinely sparked a conversation in skateboarding that was rarely talked about, and since then we’ve seen countless pro skateboarders and influential folks open up about mental health, suicide, and a variety of topics that were typically kept quiet. Learn more about the Foundation below and see how you can get involved.

About the Ben Raemers Foundation

In May 2019, at the age of 28, professional skateboarder Ben Raemers died by suicide. The devastation and loss of such a beautifully contagious human being rippled across the world. Through seeing the sadness left behind and the desire from the community to support an ongoing project, The Ben Raemers Foundation was formed.

The overall aim of the foundation is to provide a way to maintain Ben’s legacy and help prevent any more loss to suicide. We aim to enable the skateboarding community to have opportunities to develop the skills and tools needed to support each other to understand and address mental health. Suicide is a preventable death, so it’s something everyone can work together to do and save lives.
