If you live in or around North County San Diego (shoot, I've seen people driving from LA and Vegas to skate this thing) then I'm sure you've seen clips of this recently unearthed pond spot popping up on your Explore page. I mean, look at it. That thing is an absolute gem.
House of Vista skate shop owner, Mike Bricke recently tested the waters of this now blown out spot and documented the session alongside a ripping crew, including: Nixen Osborne, Collin Provost, Noah Lora, Bobby Long, Skip Man, Jamie Thomas, Ace Pelka and Erick Winkowski. Squad! Peep the edit and let the spot-envy soak in.
I hit up Mike to see what he had to say about the edit, and he told me, "Went out to check a recently unearthed pool/pond in North County SD. We rolled out with a few homies and ended up running into a few more when we got there. Big thanks to whoever dug it out, get there and get a rip on it if you can before it’s gone!"
Personally, I'm always stoked to see a VX1000 edit, and can appreciate that Mike is out there keeping the standard definition dream alive. The colors, the grit, the sounds. I'll always have a special place in my heart for that trusty piece of equipment.
If you live in San Diego and have never been to The House of Vista, you're sorely missing out. Mike and the HOV crew are as real as it gets, so if you're ever in the area, pop in and buy some stuff.
As far as this spot...don't ask for the pin and good luck getting your revs in. Actually, is it already gone? Might be! But if you were one of the lucky ones who got to skate it, good on ya! Gotta make moves and get yours while you can.
