John Shanahan Gets A Rare Nosegrind In Times Square

John Shanahan Gets A Rare Nosegrind In Times Square

This clip is super New York. If you’ve been to Times Square (and you skate) then you’ve definitely seen these benches.

Rarely skated, due to the sheer crowdedness of one of America’s busiest destinations, this nosegrind from John Shanahan is so epic for many reasons beyond the trick itself. This is a gem.

Clipped from the @pangeajeans promo vid, this trick was definitely a standout. He nailed it. Simple as that. To get a trick here—anything really—is a major win…but seriously, how good does he do this? Balanced and buttery.

Dodging pedestrians and mentally preparing yourself at a spot like this is a feat in its own right—that’s half the battle. Let alone all the random people sitting (and sleeping) on these benches most the time. But it seems like John clearly kept his cool as he took this nosegrind up and across in less than a New York minute.

Shout out to Shanahan for stepping to this thing. It takes some grit, that’s for sure. But in the end, you can’t argue how epic this is.
