Tyler Smolinski is a G behind the lens and in the edit bay. His latest project, Echoes From the Powerplant, is a proper look at both his creativity and work ethic. And with talent like Finn Pope, Daiki Hoshino, Drake Johnson, Justin Drysen, Mason Silva and Erik Herrera in front of the lens, you know you're in for something special. So good! Press play and get stoked:
This certainly isn't just some random, cookie-cutter edit. Smolinski has an eye for this stuff—one that stretches far beyond skateboarding—and the skaters involved speak for themselves. Mason, Erik, Drysen... big fan of them all. But in fairness, every single one of these dudes absolutely killed it.
I've always been—and always will be—a fan of textured B-Roll in skate edits. It adds an extra layer of personality and always compliments the skating in a really unique way. And with the greater Cleveland area as the backdrop, the entire edit is a vibe of its own.
Great skating. Great editing. Great soundtrack. Sick spots. What else can I say? This one has it all. Watch it, then watch it again. Hats off to all involved.
