The Sony VX1000 is a special piece of equipment in the skateboarding world and respected lensman, Chris Thiessen never leaves home without it! Myles Willard and Thiessen have been working on a rad new VX1000 video part and just dropped it over the weekend.
Classic cutty spots, tons of quick hits and plenty of speed—Thiessen and Willard are keeping the VX1000 dream alive with edits like this. Take a look:
No alleyway is safe from these two! Say what you want, but I've always been a fan of parts like this. And I'll happily admit that I went through my own VX1000 phase for a while; a rare time in my life where I was obsessed with finding random spots that I knew would look sick through that beautiful death lens.
It takes a nice blend of creativity and talent to pull off a part like this. Don't quote me, but I'd bet that the majority of these spots are probably way harder to skate than they look. Cracks, crust, this, that and the other—it might be an acquired taste, but I'm here for it.
Chris Thiessen has been dropping rad VX1000 edits and parts for as long as I can remember. His Instagram bio literally says, "VX1000 enthusiast" and I'd say those two words sum his approach up perfectly. He certainly is, and although many other VX enthusiasts out there seem to be few and far between, they do exist.
You just gotta look a little harder for 'em these days!
Regardless, Myles is a ripper and these two did a rad job here. Raw street skating, fast, good song... there's an energy to the edit, that's for sure. And at the end of the day, screwing on that death lens to your trusty VX and hitting the streets with your friends is still always the right move.
