Brandon Westgate's part in New Balance Numeric's ripping full-length video, Intervals was an absolute banger, to say the least. You could argue it was Westgate at his absolute best, and that's saying a lot, because the dude is obviously a straight-up beast.
NB# just introduced a new series called "Intervals Selects" giving us a behind-the-scenes look into the making of Intervals and they're kicking things off with Westgate. Each episode will give us a peak behind the curtain of the project, hooking us up with the raw process behind the final edit. Unseen tricks, alternate angles, and the moments that make it all happen. It's all here. Dive in:
Call me crazy, but every once in a while, I enjoy raw clips more than the actual part itself. It's certainly not a bad thing—there’s just something rad about seeing the process behind it all. Especially when it's a skater like Westgate. He's one of the best to ever do it—pure power, no nonsense—and his approach is something we can all admire.
Some of these clips are absolutely wild. It's a nice refresher, especially if you haven't revisited the polished part in a while.
This one is for the skate nerds who want the how not just the wow, if that makes sense. We see the tricks before they were makes, the angles that didn’t make the cut, the battles and close calls—all the stuff that matters, but often gets overlooked.
Real skating. Real effort. Real insight. If you haven't yet, press play and get stoked.
