Christian Hosoi's influence lives on through countless skaters around the world, but none quite like Moto Shibata. The style, the flare, the loftiness of each trick—it's sort of like you've jumped in a time machine and are witnessing Hosoi doing this line at the height of his career.
You don't see Christian's iconic trick, the Christ Air, going down all that often. It's an extremely difficult move, but one of the most visually pleasing tricks ever invented in my opinion. From doing them in THPS to seeing them in real life, there's plenty of reasons why Hosoi is such a legend, and this is just a small sample.

Not to take away any of the well-deserved shine from Moto, who just so happens to be pro for Christian's brand, Hosoi Skateboards, but it's rad to see just how much influence is visible in the way he skates, the tricks he does and his style on and off the board.
But really, are you surprised? When you're hanging with a legend like Hosoi as often as Moto, some influence is going to rub off whether you realize it's happening or not. And that's definitely not a bad thing! Surround yourself with positive, influential people—skateboarding royalty, no less—and sparks are bound to fly.
So much about this clip is rad, I had to slow my roll a bit and take a deep breath. Christian is such a positive, shining force in the skate world and really set the stage for skaters like Moto to blow minds and thrive in the crowded world of skateboarding we all adore so much.
Shirtless with the tee tucked in his pocket to add the extra flare? Oh yeah, this is it. This is Hosoi. Every detail covered. And we love to see.
