Ryan Lay is in the hot seat on The Nine Club this week, and all I know is this dude has had quite a productive year (on and off the board).
Fresh off a bike trip from Vancouver to Mexico, Ryan dives into what pushed him to take on such a massive trek in the first place, how it changed his perspective, and how that same drive carries into his skating.
Aside from that, he talks injuries, being a working class skater, how he got on Sci-Fi Fantasy and why he feels like he won the lottery at 34 with the sponsors he has now. Hard to deny! You know the deal—carve out some time, leave it on in the background or settle in and consume as you please. Ryan's always been a ripping skater and rad human. Great episode. Check it out:
It's a solid conversation, and as always, Lay's honesty and humble perspective make for a super refreshing interview, to say the least.
Honestly, even with everything I've spoiled, I'm just barely scratching the surface. I will say I'm stoked to hear Ryan say he'll run this upcoming 5K with Chris Roberts. Running talk on a skateboarding podcast? It's a new world and I'm absolutely here for it.
Lay is just a standup guy. Ripping skateboarder, an advocate for all things rad, and just a positive figure in the industry. Press play and get stoked.
