The new Sk8mafia Saturdays takes us back to the streets of San Diego with Alexis Ramirez and TJ Rogers during the filming of their Red Bull No Rewind edit—a project that was ultimately cancelled and never saw the light of day…until now.
“TJ Rogers and Alexis Ramirez hit the streets with a Red Bull Skate non-rewindable, non-reviewable VX1000 camera,” Sk8mafia wrote on YouTube. “As the Red Bull Skate No Rewind project got cancelled, this was our submission.”
The edit also features: Brandon Turner, Alex Willms, Fox Connelly, JohnRob Moore, Nick Suarez, George Torres and Jesse Silva. It has a proper, nostalgic 411VM edit vibe to it, you know? The editing is on point. The skating is top-notch. Alexis and TJ absolutely killed it, along with the rest of the Sk8mafia squad. It would've been a shame for all this hard work to go unwatched! Stoked they put this out.
I remember Red Bull launching this contest and thought it was a rad idea. No rewinding, no rewatching—let's just see who can truly get out there and stack the most clips. All through the lens of a trusty, skate-friendly VX1000 nonetheless. Raw and gritty, as it should be.
Without sounding too much like a broken record, TJ and Alexis are total powerhouses. Quite the duo, as we clearly see. They've both been on fire the past few years and we love to see them getting the shine they deserve. The Mafia squad has always been strong, but these two really add some serious weight.
Anyways, press play and enjoy what should've been a Red Bull release. Honestly, though, it feels even better as a Sk8mafia Saturdays. Boom.
