1. There’s a high potential to slam on your nuts with a boardslide if your boards flies away from you. So drag that flatbar out of your garage, and start there before taking this trick to a ten-stair.
2. Roll parallel to the rail with moderate speed.
3. Snap a clean ollie, and rotate your lower body–guide the nose of your board over the rail so it’s perpendicular to the rail.
4. Land with soft feet and the rail in the middle of your board. If you land too hard, you could snap your board in half or end up leaning too far to one side and have to bail out.
5. With your arms and shoulders parallel to the rail, keep your weight centered over your board or slightly leaning back. If you’re leaning too far forward, you’ll get pitched.
6. On a normal flatbar, this is where you’d dismount, but here’s the advanced version of a boardslide down a kink.
7. Lean forward a bit and hang on.
8. Absorb the bottom kink, and get ready to fly off the rail.
9. Rotate your shoulders, and turn your lower body back to land.
10. Spot your landing.
11. Absorb the impact, and ride away.
12. The boardslide is definitely a trick to start your bag off with. It’s a good warm-up trick and can be pulled on just about anything–ledges, rails, parking blocks, mini ramps, and cars.
