Van life—you’ve either lived it, seen it up close, or at least heard the stories. It’s baked into skateboarding culture, which is exactly why this new series from The Platfrm "Life in the Van" hits so close to home for so many of us.
The gas station dinners. The weird inside jokes. The inevitable irritability. All the unfiltered moments crammed between spots, demos, and whatever else the day throws at you. It's a lot! As Chris Roberts once said, “It’s like a family experience. You start to hate these people.” Nailed it, ha!
Braden Hoban, Dakota Servold, and David Reyes lead the charge in the latest episode. You guys like Miami? Get there:
“We are usually on the road for half the year,” Braden mentions, “and it’s still not enough.” And I think we can all agree that most skate trips do in fact go by way too fast. But that's just what keeps feeding the hunger. And these dudes are hungry!
Life on the road isn't for everyone, but those who know it well, know first hand that these trips are what spark so much productivity. If you're a pro skater, you're going to travel. A lot. So much that some dudes get eventually get burnt out. But Hoban, Servold and Reyes are clearly built for it, and this fly-on-the-wall look was super interesting.
What else can I say? Not here to spoil anything. Duh! Hop in the van. Join the sessions. And see what these certified pros do best—travel the world and get rad.
