How many new tricks have you learned this year? I know we're only 23 days into 2026, but Tony Hawk is already reminding us—as if he needs to—that he's still the absolute GOAT with posts like we see below.
The dude is inching towards 60 these days, which is certainly not a bad thing, considering the fact that he's still progressing on his board after decades of groundbreaking influence and inspiration. His latest battle/accomplishment? A wild one he's dubbed Oop-Cab-Mont. Don't worry, it'll all make sense in a second. Take a look:

"Oop-Cab-Monty: tried this one on and off for years but never followed through," The Birdman wrote on Instagram. "The process can be dispiriting, especially when you walk (limp?) away hurt and/or exhausted. But then eventually one might work and you forget all about the anguish you’ve put yourself through. These are the moments… that are deeply personal, and often mean more than they should. But I believe they make us better."
It’s no secret that deep down, skateboarding is all about progression. I mean, trying and conquering new tricks is one of the best feelings in the world! Whether you’re just learning how to ollie or figuring out some obscure NBD, that hunger to progress never really dies.
But to see someone like Tony—who has literally changed skateboarding in so many ways—still out there chasing that feeling? Yeah, consider me inspired. Does he just sit around and think, “I wonder if this is possible?” Or, “This would be sick…” Pfft, probably! Hell, it's worked this long, right?
There’s a reason there’s only one Tony Hawk. And there will only ever be one Tony Hawk. The dude is a lifer, and moments like this just cement what we already know: he ain’t done yet! In fact, he might never be.
