God bless Manolo's Tapes and the remixes he continues to bring. Up next is San Diego ledgend Mr. Peter Smolik and all the incredible ledge tech he brought to the world in his FulFill The Dream/Trouble Shooters era. Dig into this expertly crafted mixtape vid:
The beat drops on a classic Ol' Dirty track as Smolik's ledge hammers start dropping. Now this footage is from circa 1998, and Lakai's Fully Flared came out 2007 with a lot of the exact same tricks in it! This dude was really ahead of the game. Oh yeah, there's some classic B. Turner clips in here as well. And he's still killing it.
From San Diego to Boston, Miami to NYC, Pete went off in that era. A lot of the ledge tricks in here had never been done before. Kind of a concept lost in today's skating. His Osiris pro model shoe gets some shine in here too. Possibly the More Sag Less Drag pants-to-shoe system as well. All that noseslide to tailslide stuff, and the backside nosegrind shove-it to backside five-O? Pete did it first.
Peep Smolik's classic TWS part in Let's Do This!
