You can't keep The Birdman down, but even this skateboarding legend knows the rest and recovery are just as vital as general performance. Despite learning the hard way (can we blame him?) Tony has been given what he's calling a second chance at recovery, and is back on his board doing what he does best.
Look at this guy! Even as he recovers, he's skating better than most of us could ever dream. The man lives to inspire, and we're lucky to have one of skateboarding's fearless leaders continuing to show us what's humanly possible on the board. (The Tenacious D track is a nice addition as well, a little homage to his buddy Jack Black!)

Tony tells us he was in denial for months after the accident, which seems natural. Of course he was. And situations like that can really create a battle between mind and body. He was pushing through constant pain and trying to force skating, despite (literally) not having a leg to stand on. But he has since prevailed, as we all knew he would. Let's all just take a moment to give this man respect.
"I’m skating again and it feels good. My skills and strength are not ready for prime time as far as I’m concerned, but I’m happy to share my progress with tempered expectations," Tony writes on Instagram. "I’m still standing… and finally leaning into a proper recovery, both figuratively and literally. Thank you for all of the support through this tumultuous journey. The wheels have not fallen off yet."
No they have not. And at this point, I'm humbled to wonder if they ever will.
