Brett Sube is a ripping skateboarder and kills it just as hard behind the lens of a VX1000. His latest project, Petty Crime: A VX Story was a perfect example of what a ripping indie skate video should look like in 2025, and he just dropped TJ Rogers' part on his YouTube.
Aside from TJ's part, the video featured full parts from Sebo Walker, JJ Rice, Brett Sube, Brian Baca, and Mike York, alongside appearances from a stacked lineup including: Daniel Castillo, Spencer Fujimoto, Danny Hamaguchi, Lucas Puig, Yaje Popson, Walker Ryan, Jordan Maxham, Paul Hart, Torey Pudwill, Dave Bachinsky, and many more. Peep TJ's part below:
On the Less Than Local site (where you can buy the DVD), they had this to say:
"Petty Crime: A VX Story is a full-length, independent skate film capturing the raw energy and grit of the West Coast skate scene. Filmed and edited by Brett Sube, the video chronicles sessions from the streets of Los Angeles, CA, up through Portland, OR, and into Snohomish, WA — showcasing the diversity and depth of modern street skating.
Shot entirely on the iconic Sony VX1000 and DJI Mavic Mini 2, and edited in Adobe Premiere Pro, Petty Crime pairs a nostalgic VX aesthetic with a fresh, modern edge — all driven by a full custom score by Nick James. The result is a raw and authentic portrayal of West Coast skateboarding and the independent spirit that keeps it alive."
TJ's style and skating will always look dope on VX, which is just a small reason this project ruled. The palm trees, iconic spots and cutty back-alley gems were just the icing on the cake. Great skaters. Tons of different terrain. High vibes. It's all here.
We see TJ skating Blind boards in most of these clips as well, which tells us this footage is a little older, but that doesn't really mean anything—the dude is a clip-stacking-machine and his talent speaks for itself.
Anyways, here's a little Sunday stoke for you. Watch it, get hyped and go skate!
