PLG Wins Vert Gold At X Games LA 2012

PLG Earns his Sixth X Games Skateboard Vert Gold—Fourth in Five Years
18th Medal Overall

Pierre Luc Gagnon has earned back the Gold medal in Skateboarding Vert, narrowly taking the win in a tight final at X Games Los Angeles 2012.  It’s his fourth gold in five years and a triumphant return to the top of the podium.

PLG started out the night by coasting through his heat and went on to set the bar high in the finals. His runs were highly technical and included trademark tricks like his kickflip body varial 540. He also nailed a big 720 into a 540 and a nollie heel (among other tricks) to chalk up a 91. The podium scores were tight but PLG was able to edge out the win.

An incredibly disciplined and consistent rider, PLG’s been a mainstay on the X Games Podium. He now holds an incredible 18 medals: 8 Gold, 8 Silver, and 2 Bronze.
