The 7 Best Indoor Skate Parks in the U.S.
We know this list skews a bit to the right and left coasts, and surely there are a ton of indoor parks in the middle of the country and the Pacific Northwest, so we will be updating this list in the future. Give us a heads up on your favorite indoor park in your neck of the woods by sliding into our DMs. As for now, as the weather turns to winter in the US of A, here are seven solid go-tos.
1. Skatepark of Tampa
- Address: 4215 East Columbus Drive, Tampa, FL 33605
- Website: skateparkoftampa.com
You all already know, or at least you ought to: Doing it big since 1993, home of the world-famous Tampa Am and Tampa Pro contests, Skatepark of Tampa has been featured in movies, in Tony Hawk’s best-selling video game, you name it. What Brian Schaefer has done is the gold standard of grassroots and skater-owned skate parks and contests. You’ve got to pay SPoT a visit at least once in your life just to say you’ve been there. Grab a sandwich at Brocato’s and hit the Ybor City strip for the nightlife while you’re there.

2. Vans Skate Space 198
- Address: 198 Randolph Street, Brooklyn, NY
- Website: Vans.com/space198
Vans’ latest contribution to the New York City skate scene is its Skate Space 198 out in Bushwick, Brooklyn. It’s not a public free-for-all every day, but you can sign up for free sessions weekly; plus, they’re always hosting rad, free, public events like their annual Block Party, video premieres and more.

3. CA Training Facility
- Address: 1410 Vantage Court, Vista, California 92081
- Website: ca-tf.com
Specifically built for the most elite contest skaters to train and hone their skills, the street course and the bowl at the CA TF are built to the exact specs as the courses for The Olympics, Street League, X Games and more. The CA TF offers memberships, lessons, coaching sessions and more. Drop in on open sessions on the weekends or start training to be the next gold medalist.
4. Shred Industries
- Address: 930 Broadway, Albany, NY 12207
- Website: shredfoundation.org
Albany, New York’s indoor skate park and “resiliency center.” A 14,000 square-foot skate park with membership passes, youth programming and more. From its site, “SHRED Industries also serves as the classroom space for our creative and career workshops, mental health programming and will serve as the hub for our youth and community. Monthly and Yearly Memberships are available as well as Session and Day Passes. The proceeds of which all go to support SHRED's youth programming and facility."
5. Breaking Free Skatepark
- Address: 1044 University Ave. Rochester, NY 14607
- Website: breakingfreeskatepark.com
Boasting “New York’s Largest Indoor Skate Park,” Breaking Free has been in operation in Rochester since 2016. Check its YouTube page for a bunch of footage of the park. 20,000 square feet of shreddable terrain for a $20 session sounds good to us. They even have a Patreon and a podcast!
6. Food Court Skatepark
- Address: 3701 McKinley Pkwy Unit 835, Buffalo, NY 14219
- Website: foodcourtskatepark.com
This 15,000-square-foot indoor skate park is located in the McKinley Mall in Buffalo, New York. This cleverly named skate park is open to all and has lessons and rentals, as well as an online shop. They do events like their Cook Off: Winter Open, and with that Chinese food logo, we’d bet their merch does numbers, too. The little faux-grass gap and pool coping remind us a bit of the old TWS Park.
7. 2nd Nature
- Address: 1 Highland Industrial Park, Peekskill, NY 10566
- Website: 2ntr.com
2nd Nature is Northern Westchester, New York’s gem that a bunch of New York City skaters who you’ve heard of grew up training in. Lessons, camps, parties and more—and just a stone’s throw from New York City. When the weather turns, head just slightly upstate and get your roll on at 2nd Nature.
