Hunger Skateparks Pushes Through Tough Winter to Handle New Muncie, Indiana Build
The team at Hunger Skateparks—and quite honestly, all skatepark builders during the winter season in certain areas—are as tough as nails and recently shared some progress photos of their new build in Muncie, Indiana. You could say it simply comes with the territory, but as I sit here staring at blue skies in San Diego, it looks a little chilly.
I love some cold weather as much as the next person, but I guess the point is—a little cold weather and some harsh winter conditions aren't gonna stop this ripping crew of skatepark builders from pushing through their current project out there in Muncie. Peep the photos below. This place is going to be sick!
Now, don't get me wrong... I'm not trying to sound dramatic here, either. I know there are plenty of builders and DIY dogs who have worked in harsher conditions than what we see here, but at the same time, some projects have to come to a halt eventually if conditions get too gnarly.
All that cement has to dry, after all!
And while I'm no certified skatepark builder by any means, I have to assume that some days are more enjoyable than others. But as the caption mentions, it's winter park building season in Indiana and the show must go on! Respect.
Okay, all weather talk aside, this little gem looks like it's going to be super fun and I have to imagine the locals in Muncie and its surrounding areas are pretty fired up about this place. "We’ve been working the bowl zone connecting it coping coast to coast," Hunger mentions in the post below. "How long has this community been working to get a park built — 7-10 years?" Yeah, the stoke and anticipation must be real.
I know this crew probably doesn't even want any extra added praise, but I gotta give respect where respect is due! These dudes are literally making dreams come true, and in fairness—as I mentioned—so are all the other ripping skatepark builders across the globe. New skateparks open up an entire new world of opportunities and radness in any community, and this is obviously no different.
Hey, we see you guys! Keep your foot on the gas and thanks for everything.
