The diehard skaters on the Tactics team, that's who. "Total darkness by 5pm, constant rain showers looming on the radar, and the risk of weekday bust spots had us writing this trip off before it even began. We saw a rare window of opportunity in the forecast and with the generator rented, fried skater schedules aligned, and Airbnb’s booked, there was no turning back... With hope on our side and The Prodigy’s “Breathe” on constant rotation, the Tactics team hopped in the van and brought it back to where it all began – Eugene, OR”

Northwest crust on full display here. An occasional juggalo sighting, snowy mountaintops in the background, and of course those big concrete parks the Pacific Northwest is known for. Not everyone is built for this, but it's a beautiful slice of the skateboarding world everyone should go sample at least once.
In case you didn't know, Tactics has been throwing one of the best summer contest weekends up in Oregon for a few years now, the Northwest Open. Seek Skateboard camp up in the woods above Portland is one hell of a skater's dream escape. Look 'em up and plan a visit.
