Street League Skateboarding Crowns the 2024 'Trick of the Year' Winner
As fun as this concept is, choosing a “trick of the year” after a year of skateboarding like we saw in 2024 is not an easy task. We saw so many incredible moments go down last year; so many groundbreaking video parts, tricks, battles… but I will say this: Street League’s final choice is hard to argue. Take a look:
Tiago Lemos is the SLS 2024 Trick of the Year winner! Boom. Tiago had an amazing year in 2024. From beginning to end, he hit us with so many mind-melting clips on Instagram, amazing video parts, plenty of NBDs... and that list goes on and on.
But his switch backside noseblunt on this iconic SF spot was certainly one of his standout tricks last year, which is actually saying a lot. As the caption mentions: "Iconic spot, insane pop, proper lock-in. This is how you win the Trick of the Year!"
It’s really that simple.
Honestly, he put out more insane footage on Instagram last year alone than most pros can stack in a few years. So many of his “throwaway” clips are absolute dream-worthy bangers for normal folks like us. Straight up bucket list tricks! But hey, there’s only one Tiago.
As I mentioned earlier, though, there was no shortage of downright shocking submissions for the SLS 2024 Trick of the Year. Between your favorite pros, ams and a variety of hungry up and comers alike, it’s pretty insane to see how far skateboarding has come. This choice could not have come without a little debate. But again—well deserved, if you ask me!
With that said, congrats again to Tiago! Someone had to take the cake. And more importantly, big shoutout to anyone who submitted a clip, all the other finalists, and anyone who gave it their all last year. Keep the fire burning.
