The latest episode of Beyond Boards shines some well-deserved light on Joel Meinholz, and it’s a must-listen for anyone who’s followed his decades-deep story in skateboarding.
Joel is one of our absolute favs and has been providing stoke for as long as I can personally remember. And he's still out there doing it today! Carve out some time and tune in. This is a rad one.
Here's a little blurb from Beyond Boards:
"Together we discussed his life and career, from picking up his first board in the late 80’s, settling down in Miami and having a productive skateboarding career riding for Planet Earth, Stereo, Rasa Libre and eventually Hopps, and appearing among other things in Josh Stewart’s iconic Static video series, working in event production and marketing throughout his entire career, ripping hard as ever in his late 40’s and sharpening his photography skills at Harvard and much more through surprise questions from friends of his."
As always, the interview is super rad. Joel just has that infectious energy about him, you know? But to make a cool thing even cooler, Theories of Atlantis dug up some archival footage from one of the sessions Joel talks about—one of many sessions where he and Ed Selego were absolutely feeding off of each other—and recently shared it. 1998. Miami. Word! Take a look at this:

It's all so rad! Really though, find the time to listen to the whole interview. Joel has stories for days and all the guest questions really tie a sweet knot on it all. Get there!
